Aviation News – Greece has signed a €50 million follow-on support contract with NH Industries to strengthen the operational availability of its NH90 military helicopter fleet.

The Greek Ministry of Defence and NH Industries finalized the agreement following the recent delivery of the 20th and final NH90 to the Hellenic Army. Covering a five-year period, the contract establishes a dedicated support ecosystem to ensure reliable access to spare parts, maintenance, and technical services—an essential step after years of limited availability and logistical challenges.

Under the new arrangement, NH Industries will provide continuous supply chain support, streamlined maintenance procedures, and technical assistance designed to keep the fleet mission-ready. The NH90, a versatile multi-role helicopter, plays a key role in transport, search and rescue, and special operations missions.

A spokesperson for NH Industries said the agreement “demonstrates Greece’s commitment to maintaining a fully capable and modern helicopter fleet, and we are proud to support the Hellenic Army in achieving higher operational readiness.”

Looking ahead, the enhanced support framework is expected to reduce downtime, improve mission efficiency, and extend the service life of Greece’s NH90 fleet. Defence officials view the deal as a strategic investment that strengthens national and regional security.

The new contract marks a turning point for Greece’s NH90 programme, providing long-term stability and improved performance. With better logistics and maintenance support now in place, the Hellenic Army can expect a more reliable helicopter fleet for critical operations in the years ahead.
