Aviation News – Bell and the U.S. Army have completed key simulator testing of the MV-75 Future Long Range Assault Aircraft in collaboration with NASA.
The milestone supports development of the Army’s next-generation assault aircraft and reduces technical risk ahead of flight testing.
Engineers and test pilots from Bell and the U.S. Army recently worked with NASA at the Ames Research Center’s Simulation Lab to evaluate the aircraft’s Level 1 handling qualities. The testing used NASA’s Vertical Motion Simulator, one of the world’s most advanced flight simulation systems, as part of the ongoing FLRAA development program.
The Vertical Motion Simulator allows pilots to experience realistic flight dynamics and mission profiles before an aircraft flies. For the MV-75, the tests helped validate control laws, pilot workload, and aircraft responsiveness, bolting human-machine integration into the design while supporting safety and performance targets.
