Trump Pressures Air-Traffic Controllers to Return to Work During Shutdown

Aviation News – President Donald Trump warned that air-traffic controllers who do not return to work during the ongoing government shutdown will face significant pay reductions, as flight disruptions continue across major U.S. airports.

The pressure comes as cancellations and delays have expanded nationwide, with reduced staffing affecting air travel operations. Trump stated that controllers who continued working throughout the shutdown would be eligible for a $10,000 bonus, while those who stayed home would see their pay “substantially docked.” The situation reflects broader tensions between the administration and federal employees affected by stalled government funding.
