Aviation News – Germany has agreed to purchase 20 additional Airbus H145M helicopters in a deal valued at approximately €1 billion, reinforcing its military aviation capabilities and long-term fleet modernization plans.
The decision builds on earlier procurement efforts and reflects Berlin’s continued investment in rotary-wing aviation amid evolving defense requirements. Airbus Helicopters, headquartered in Donauwörth, will be responsible for production and delivery. The agreement follows previous acquisitions and comes as Germany works to standardize and strengthen its helicopter fleet for both domestic and NATO operational roles.
The new helicopter Airbus H145M will enhance transport, logistics, and support missions, enabling faster deployment of personnel and equipment. The fleet upgrade is designed to improve readiness, interoperability, and maintenance efficiency—an increasingly important goal as Germany adapts its defense posture.
