Aviation News – China successfully launches new remote sensing satellite from Hainan
China has launched its latest Yaogan-46 remote sensing satellite from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan province on Monday, marking another milestone in the nation’s expanding space capabilities. The satellite aims to enhance China’s capacity for disaster prevention, resource management, and environmental monitoring.
The Yaogan-46 was lifted into orbit at 11:47 a.m. Beijing Time aboard a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket, which successfully delivered it into its preset orbit. The launch represents the 605th mission in China’s Long March rocket series — a cornerstone of the country’s rapidly growing space program.
Designed for multi-purpose remote sensing, the Yaogan-46 will collect detailed Earth observation data to support disaster relief, land resource surveys, hydrology, and meteorological analysis. Its advanced sensors are expected to provide more accurate information for national emergency response and environmental research.
