Aviation News – Bombardier has received Transport Canada Type Certification for its flagship Global 8000 business jet, clearing the way for entry into service later this year and marking a major milestone in the ultra-long-range aircraft market.
The Global 8000 has been in development for several years and has undergone extensive flight testing, including a supersonic demonstration and its first production flight in May. Bombardier is now preparing for subsequent approvals from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which are expected to follow in alignment with customer delivery schedules. The aircraft promises new performance and comfort benchmarks for high-end private, corporate, and charter aviation clients.
The jet features a top speed of Mach 0.95, making it the fastest business aircraft currently in production. It also introduces an industry-leading cabin altitude of 2,691 feet when cruising at 41,000 feet—made possible through precise pressure system engineering and bolt-level structural integrity. Combined with Bombardier’s Pũr Air HEPA filtration system and Soleil circadian lighting technology, the cabin environment is designed to minimize jet lag and improve passenger well-being on long-haul flights.
The certification positions Bombardier to begin customer deliveries and expand its presence in the top tier of the global business jet market. Demand for ultra-long-range, high-efficiency aircraft continues to grow among corporate operators, government clients, and private owners.
