Bombardier has just announced that the Global 7500 business jet has smashed through another milestone: its 150th officially recognized city-pair speed record, making it the single most decorated business aircraft in terms of speed achievements ever. On key routes—Tokyo to Los Angeles, New York to London, Hong Kong to Montreal, Toronto to Paris—the 7500 has repeatedly flown faster than competitors, and in 20 of those record missions it averaged over 1,000 km/h.

This achievement builds on an already stellar legacy: the Global 7500 has surpassed 200 deliveries and amassed more than 280,000 flight hours. It’s also responsible for holding the longest flight in business aviation history—8,225 nautical miles from Sydney to Detroit—and for executing the longest nonstop journey from London City Airport to Los Angeles.

Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Bombardier’s Executive VP for Aircraft Sales, emphasizes that these records are not just technical stunts but real-world proof that the jet performs under all kinds of conditions and routes, often with passengers onboard.

With a top speed of Mach 0.925 and a baseline range of 7,700 nautical miles, the Global 7500 is already a benchmark in ultra-long-range business aviation. Its signature Smooth Flĕx Wing design helps generate extra lift at takeoff and landing, optimizes aerodynamics, improves ride comfort, and reduces fuel burn and emissions.

But Bombardier isn’t stopping there. The new Global 8000 is poised to continue its dominance. Already in final assembly and expected to enter service later this year, the 8000 promises to push boundaries further. It’s designed to cruise up to Mach 0.94, offer a range of 8,000 nautical miles, and deliver exceptional cabin experience with an ultra-low cabin altitude for enhanced passenger comfort. The 8000 also offers four true living spaces plus a crew rest area, and is engineered for excellent runway performance—even comparable to lighter jets—allowing access to more remote or shorter airfields.

All told, Bombardier is making clear that the Global lineage is not just about luxury, but about pushing performance, efficiency, flexibility, and reliability together.
