Aviation News – The Bayraktar TB2 Unmanned Combat Aerial System (UCAS) has been officially presented and integrated into the Croatian Air Force, marking a significant step in strengthening Croatia’s defense capabilities.

Croatia formally introduced the system on 2 September 2025, when the Croatian Air Force (HRZ) accepted the Bayraktar TB2 into active service. The decision follows earlier procurement talks and reflects Croatia’s efforts to modernize its armed forces and enhance aerial surveillance and defense readiness.

The Bayraktar TB2, developed by Turkish manufacturer Baykar, is designed for long-endurance reconnaissance and strike missions. It can operate at medium altitude, carry precision-guided munitions, and provide real-time intelligence to ground commanders, significantly expanding operational flexibility.

“By integrating the Bayraktar TB2 into our fleet, we are boosting our national security and ensuring the Croatian Air Force is prepared for the challenges of modern defense,” a Ministry of Defense spokesperson said during the presentation ceremony.

The deployment of TB2 drones signals Croatia’s intent to align with modern NATO standards and invest in advanced defense technologies. Officials noted that the system will play a crucial role in surveillance, border security, and joint operations with allies.

With the Bayraktar TB2 now operational, Croatia has joined a growing list of countries relying on the drone for defense and intelligence missions. The move highlights Zagreb’s commitment to maintaining regional security and readiness for emerging threats.
