Two IAF Pilots Killed in Jaguar Trainer Jet Crash Near Churu, Rajasthan

Aviation News, July 10, 2025 – Rajasthan, India – Two Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots lost their lives after a Jaguar trainer aircraft crashed during a routine training flight near Churu, Rajasthan, on Wednesday. This marks the third crash involving a Jaguar fighter jet since March this year.

In an official statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the IAF confirmed the tragic incident: “The aircraft was on a routine training mission when it met with an accident. Both pilots sustained fatal injuries. No damage to civilian property has been reported.” A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the crash.

According to Churu Superintendent of Police Jai Yadav, the aircraft went down around 12:30 PM near Bhavana Badavane village. Local witnesses reported that the jet appeared to be flying at a low altitude before the crash occurred.Defence officials highlighted that low-level training missions—typically conducted at altitudes of 150 metres or lower—are particularly risky. These flights increase vulnerability to hazards such as bird strikes and hidden obstructions like wind turbines or communication towers.

This latest accident is the third involving a Jaguar fighter jet in recent months. On March 7, another Jaguar crashed near Panchkula, Haryana, shortly after taking off from the Ambala air base. In that incident, the pilot successfully ejected and survived.
