A Russian aircraft carrying more than 40 people has gone missing from radar in the Amur region of eastern Russia. According to local media reports, the plane had approximately 40 passengers and 6 crew members on board. Among the passengers were five children, the regional governor confirmed.
The missing aircraft is believed to be an Antonov An-24 operated by Angara Airlines. It was en route to the town of Tynda, located in the Amur region near the Chinese border. The flight reportedly lost contact with air traffic control just a few kilometers from its intended destination.
Russian news outlets including Interfax and Shot have reported on the incident, which has raised serious concerns about the safety and fate of those on board. Search and rescue operations are expected to be underway in the remote area.
