KECSKEMÉT, Hungary – In a significant step for Hungary’s military aviation, the first three L-39NG Skyfox advanced jet trainers were officially delivered to the Hungarian Air Force during a ceremony held at Kecskemét Air Base on Friday.
The handover ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Hungarian Armed Forces, as well as executives from Czech aircraft manufacturer AERO Vodochody.
“The L-39NG Skyfox aircraft represent a new standard in pilot training and reflect the strong partnership between our nations and within NATO,” said Viktor Sotona, President of AERO Vodochody, during his address at the event.
The delivery marks the first installment under a broader contract for 12 aircraft. In addition to the jets, the agreement includes supporting infrastructure, flight simulators, and comprehensive training programs designed to modernize Hungary’s pilot instruction capabilities.
The L-39NG Skyfox is the latest generation of the renowned L-39 trainer, offering improved avionics, safety features, and training efficiency. It is expected to play a key role in preparing the next generation of Hungarian military pilots.
