Eva Airlines of Taiwan will purchase five Boeing 787s for $1.8 billion.

On March 14, 2016, an Evergreen Group-owned EVA Airlines passenger flight arrives at Taoyuan International Airport in northern Taiwan.

Taiwan’s Eva Airways Corp said on Monday that it would purchase five Boeing 787 widebody planes for $1.78 billion at list prices.

Eva Airlines currently has 10 Boeing 787 planes in service.

China Airlines Ltd, Taiwan’s other major carrier, said in August that it will purchase 16 787 widebody jets to replace its aging fleet of Airbus A330s.
