Leonardo and Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 1 S.A. (WZL1) have entered a contract for long-term support of the Polish Air Force M-346 “Bielik” fleet, strengthening their existing collaboration.

By combining Leonardo’s support expertise with WZL1’s knowledge of aircraft and systems belonging to the Polish Armed Forces, the service support agreement will boost fleet availability and meet the growing training needs of the Polish Air Force.

Leonardo, the original equipment manufacturer, will provide engineering support services while WZL1 will coordinate the process, complementing areas not directly involved with Leonardo, and will be responsible for direct cooperation with the end user.

The partnership also aims to establish maintenance and repair competences at Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 1 S.A. to support the operation of M-346 aircraft with the AJT system. The M-346 aircraft has been ordered by several air forces and has been certified by the US Air Force for the training of fourth and fifth generation fighter pilots.
