Vnesheconombank (VEB), JSC Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) and Superjet International (SJI) signed a Letter of intent (LOI) for the funding of Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) deliveries to CityJet in 2017. The LOI covers financing provided with regard to deliveries of five aircraft that will be manufactured by SCAC and customized by SuperJet International (SJI). The letter was signed in furtherance of the earlier implemented project related to funding of three SSJ100 produced for CityJet in 2016.
Signing of the letter of intent regarding funding of Sukhoi Superjet 100 deliveries to CityJet took place in Dublin today. The document was signed by Nikolay Tsekhomsky, Vnesheconombank First Deputy Chairman – member of the bank’s management board, Kamil Gaynutdinov, SCAC President, and Nazario Cauceglia, SJI CEO.
Three of the new aircraft for CityJet scheduled to be delivered in 2017 are already being produced and will be handed over in the first half of next year; two more aircraft will be delivered in the second half of 2017.
“Cooperation with CityJet illustrates the successful realization of the plans declared and our commitment to meet the customer’s demands: the aircraft will start flight operations and will begin to generate profit for the airline right after their delivery. As of today, CityJet operates three Sukhoi Superjet 100 in operations across Europe. Extension and effective operation of the fleet will help forward the global promotion of our aircraft and growth of interest in it. Consistent support of this process rendered by VEB, our longstanding partner, is one of the keys to success,” told us Kamil Gaynutdinov, SCAC President.
In spring VEB, SCAC and SJI signed the first memorandum on financing that allowed adding three Sukhoi Superjet 100 to the CityJet fleet within six months. The aircraft confirmed performance parameters claimed and their high reliability.
The SCAC/CityJet purchase contract for 15 SSJ100 where under current deliveries are being carried out was signed in spring 2016. The contract also contemplates an option for acquisition of 16 more aircraft.
