NHI deliverd the last NH90 TTH to New Zealand. This tactical transport helicopter, built in Marignane will be based in Oakeha.
“This 9th delivery is an important milestone in the life of the NH90 program since it is the first time an NH90 operator is ready to operate all the aircraft ordered. Today, the Royal New Zealand Air Force operates eight NH90 TTH in final operational configuration. This is the result of our commitment to deliver the helicopter the customer needs,” explains Xavier Poupardin, Delegated Managing Director of NHIndustries.
“The completion of the delivery process does not mean the contract is over. NHI and its partner companies are closely following the customer’s needs in terms of support and evolutions throughout the life of the helicopter,” said Poupardin.
This aircraft was assembled in Marignane at Airbus Helicopter’s facility. It has been transported to Ohakea Air Base by an Antonov 124 Cargo plane.
The NH90 TTH is the most modern Tactical Transport Helicopter in its category.
The NH90 is the optimal choice for tactical transport, thanks to its large full composite airframe, its rear ramp and its wide range of role equipment. It features a redundant Fly-by-Wire flight control system for reduced pilot workload and enhanced flight characteristics.
As of today, more than 216 helicopters have been delivered and are in service in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Greece, Oman, Australia and New Zealand.
The twin-engine, medium-size NH90 helicopter program is managed by the consortium NHIndustries, the Company owned by AgustaWestland SpA (32%), Airbus Helicopters (62.5%), and Stork Fokker (5.5%).
