MOSCOW, July 11 (RIA Novosti) – Russia is to present the most advanced military aircraft at the Farnborough International Airshow in England, Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport reported.
“We traditionally participate in this prominent airshow and try to present the latest trends and the most promising export models there. We are planning to present combat helicopters and airplanes for delegations from the Middle East, Latin America and Southeast Asia,” the head of the Rosoboronexport delegation, Sergei Kornev, was quoted as saying.
The company expects foreigners to pay increased interest to the Sukhoi Su-35 supermaneuverable multirole fighter, Mikoyan MiG-29M/M2 fighter aircraft, Yakovlev Yak-130 advanced jet trainer aircraft and Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A strategic airlifter, as well as the Mi-35M, Mi-28NE, Ka-52 and other combat helicopters.
Russia is also planning to stress the importance of scientific, technological and industrial cooperation with European partners and speak about “joint projects in the international market in the interests of third countries,” Kornev said.
Rosoboronexport is Russia’s only state exporter of defense-related and dual-use products, technologies and services. The company accounts for more than 80 percent of the country’s military exports, and cooperates with more than 700 enterprises and organizations in the Russian defense industry, as well as with foreign companies in more than 70 countries around the world.
The 2014 Farnborough International Airshow, the world’s largest aerospace exhibition, takes place in England on July 14-20. The Russian delegation is already experiencing some issues, as some participants are still unable to get visas.
