Embraer Executive Jets announced today, during its press conference at the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition 2013, that the Company has selected Rockwell Collins’ HGS-3500, the first-ever Head-up Guidance System (HGS) for mid-light and mid-size business jets, and the new multi-spectral EVS-3000 enhanced vision system for its Legacy 500 and Legacy 450 program.
“Our commitment to deliver truly innovative products guided our selection of Rockwell Collins’ HGS-3500 and EVS-3000,” said Luciano Castro, Vice President Programs, Embraer Executive Jets. “We are thrilled that our Legacy 500 and Legacy 450 customers will be the first to benefit from this inovation, in the mid-light and mid-size segments.”
Rockwell Collins’ solution will be offered as the E2VS (Embraer Enhanced Vision System) option on the Legacy 500 midsize and the Legacy 450 mid-light executive jets. E2VS, which encompasses the HUD e EVS, will fully integrate with Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line Fusion avionics suite, and its compact size and discrete profile will enable a seamless incorporation into the cockpit.
The Legacy 500 is a midsize business aircraft with a range of 3,000 nautical miles with best-in-class six-foot flat-floor cabin, which is even wider than some aircraft in the super midsize category. Eight club seats may be berthed into four beds, and the in-flight entertainment system consists of a high definition video system, surround sound, multiple audio and video input options, a cabin management system, and three options for voice communications and connectivity.
