With the A350 XWB scheduled for its maiden flight on 14 June, Airbus has published the latest “Shaping Efficiency” newsletter with new highlights on this game-changing widebody jetliner.

Released today, the second edition provides interactive A350 XWB content tailored for on-the-move readers as the aircraft takes its final steps toward a milestone first flight.

Customized for tablet “apps,” as well as in web viewing, the second issue of “Shaping Efficiency” highlights the A350 XWB’s team of international flight test engineers, takes a look at “torture testing” with a ground test aircraft, spotlights the application of carbon fibre materials in the airframe, and underscores the jetliner’s environmentally-friendly aspects…and more.

The A350 XWB is scheduled for take-off at 10 a.m. local time (weather permitting) from Toulouse, France this Friday for its landmark maiden flight.
