From Monday 15 April until 26 April 2013 the annual exercise Frisian Flag 2013 (FF 2013) was held at the Leeuwarden Air Base, in the Northern part of the Netherlands.

Participants of FF 2013 were Belgium F-16AM/BM, France Mirage F-1CR and Mirage 2000C/B, Germany Eurofighter EF-2000, Paland F-16C/D, Sweden Saab JAS-39C/D Gripen and host the Royal Netherlands Air Force with F-16AM.

The emphasis during exercise on international cooperation: both in terms of the fighter as the international battle management and air traffic control. International training is needed to air defense tasks and missions such as in Afghanistan and recently over Libya to continue to perform in the future.

Support during the exercise a Dutch (K) DC-10 and the NATO AWACS in the air. When planning the various missions, participants also work closely together.
