Defence and security company Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), for the support and maintenance of Gripen and technical support for the Swedish Armed Forces. The order forms part of an earlier signed agreement for performance-based support and maintenance. The order has a total value of SEK 330 million.
The order, for services in 2013, is placed under options included in a previously signed agreement with FMV, for performance-based support and maintenance of Gripen. The agreement was signed in June 2012. The order includes support and maintenance activities, which are essential for the flight and operation of Gripen, and includes technical publications and repairs. In addition, the order comprises logistical services and technical support for air, land, sea and command and control systems.
The work will be undertaken in Sweden at Saab’s facilities in Linköping, Arboga, Järfälla, Göteborg, Växjö and Östersund.
The original support and development agreement with FMV included options for further orders to a maximum value of SEK 2 billion until 2016, of which the SEK 330 million forms part.
