AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that WI?NIOWSKI® of Poland has signed a contract for a GrandNew light twin helicopter in VVIP transport configuration. The aircraft, featuring an exclusive 5 seats interior, is expected to be delivered in late 2012.
This contract marks the first sale of the GrandNew light twin in Poland, further expanding the success of this model in European and global VIP/corporate transport markets where the GrandNew has set new standards in its class. This sale also further reinforces the presence of AgustaWestland in Poland where its subsidiary PZL-Swidnik is based. PZL-Swidnik is also responsible for the manufacture of several GrandNew fuselages. WI?NIOWSKI® is a leading Polish company providing high quality garage and industrial doors, fencing systems and is increasingly focused on product automation and new technology development, with over 800 points of sales located across the nation and abroad.
The GrandNew is the latest variant of the proven Grand platform, with a new cockpit to provide pilots with levels of situational awareness and flight management capabilities never achieved before with light twin class helicopters, including the Localiser Performance with Vertical guidance (LPV) approach operations. New 4-axis digital autopilot, Synthetic Vision EFIS with Flight Management system (FMS), Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS), Highway in the Sky (HITS), flight recording embedded functions, Enhanced Vision System (EVS) and Digital Map all help to increase mission capability and safety. Designed with the latest technologies, the GrandNew offers high performance capabilities, a large cabin and low environmental footprint for a wide range of roles whilst retaining the attractive economics typical of the light twin category. Over 310 Grand and GrandNew helicopters have been sold to more than 190 customers in almost 40 countries worldwide to perform many missions including VIP/corporate and passenger transport, EMS/SAR, offshore transport, harbour pilot shuttle (HPS), electronic news gathering (ENG), law enforcement and patrol.
