RUSSIAN TECHNOLOGIES STATE CORPORATION AND IRKUT CORPORATION SIGNED A CONTRACT ON 35 MC-21 AIRCRAFT DELIVERY

Russian Technologies State Corporation through its subsidiary, specialized leasing company Aviation Capital Services LLC and JSC IRKUT Corporation, a part of JSC United Aircraft Corporation signed the contract on 35 MC-21 short/mid range aircraft delivery.

The signing ceremony was attended by Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and President of JSC United Aircraft Corporation Mikhail Pogosyan took part in the signing ceremony.

The contract was signed by Roman Pahomov, General Director Aviation Capital Services LLC from customer side, and Alexey Fedorov, President of JSC IRKUT Corporation from manufacturer side.

As per the contract JSC IRKUT Corporation in a period of 2022-2025 will deliver to Aviation Capital Services LLC ÌÑ-21 aircraft, including 18 MC-21-200 and 17 MC-21-300.

Total value of the contract at list price – 2.32 billion US$.

The contract provides the MC-21 to be equipped with PD-14 engines of the United Engine Corporation.

Mainly government customers are expected to be the aircraft operators.

The first contract between Aviation Capital Services LLC and JSC IRKUT Corporation on 50 MC-21 firm order and 35 MC-21 optional order was signed on August 17, 2011 at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2011 in presence of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin (Prime Minister – at that time).

The MC-21 program envisages the creation of new short/mid range family of commercial aircraft for Russian and international market.

ÌÑ-21-300 and ÌÑ-21-200 can carry 181 to 150 passengers respectively in one class configuration.

JSC IRKUT Corporation is the unique executor of the program. The creation of aircraft family is provided by the Federal Target Program – Development of the Russian civil aviation.

MC-21 family of aircraft is developing in cooperation with leading Russian and foreign companies. Companies included in Russian Technologies State Corporation are producers of several components for MC-21, in particular PD-14 engine.

The technical level of MC-21 aircraft will exceed the currently operated aircraft. High aerodynamic efficiency airframe, wide use of composite materials, new generation engines and other technical innovations ensure high aircraft performance and operational characteristics of MC-21. The increased fuselage diameter, advanced design solutions of cabin, a modern system of climate control and lighting will provide higher comfort level for passengers.

The flexibility of the MC-21 concept provides successful use of MC-21 for traditional, low-cost, hybrid and charter operators.

First deliveries of MC-21 aircraft to customers are scheduled on 2017.
