Gen. Raymond Johns, commander of the U.S. Air Force’s Air Mobility Command, accepted delivery of another C-130J Super Hercules for Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. Johns praised the increased capabilities of the C-130J for resupply of the warfighter in forward operating locations, aeromedical evacuations, Antarctic support and humanitarian relief.

“At the end of the day, this simple aircraft that has been in production for 57 years, and that we rely on, touches people all across the world. From airdrops in Haiti, to helping people in Japan, to helping our soldiers and Marines in Afghanistan, to helping our wounded in Iraq. We deliver hope – you deliver hope – and we are part of the team that saves lives,” said Johns.

After speaking to Lockheed Martin employees, Johns flew the aircraft to Dyess to become the 17th Super Hercules delivered to the base.
