Air Iceland extends ABACUS contract with Fokker Services for Dash 8 turboprops

Fokker Services is pleased to announce that Air Iceland, a long time customer, has decided to extend its current five year ABACUS contract for the life time of its fleet of two Dash 8*-200 aircraft.

With this life time extension, Air Iceland continues to enjoy the services provided under the ABACUS FLY program for Dash 8 aircraft. This program is part of the strategic alliance between Fokker Services and Bombardier and aims to further expand and improve the support of the Dash 8/Q-Series 100/200/300* aircraft.

Under the ABACUS agreement, Fokker Services provides a comprehensive Component Support Program to Air Iceland’s Dash 8-200 turboprops. The services include inventory lease, forward exchanges, re-conditioning services and reliability monitoring covering all major line replaceable units, including Engine LRU’s and support of several components of Air Iceland’s recently installed new “glass” cockpit.

Arni Gunnarsson, Managing Director of Air Iceland; “The ABACUS FLY program for Dash 8 Turboprops is a perfect match with our requirements. Together with the reliable service and performance of Fokker Services, the decision to extend our contract was an easy one. We look forward to further grow our company with the support of Fokker Services.”

Peter Somers, President Fokker Services; “We are very happy that Air Iceland, as customer of the first hour, decided to continue the cooperation with Fokker Services. We view this as a great endorsement of our services and our ABACUS program.”

In 2006, Air Iceland was the launching customer for Fokker’s ABACUS program for Dash 8 aircraft. This FLY program for Dash 8 Turboprops has achieved significant success and growth, with currently six airlines trusting Fokker Services with the complete component support for their Dash 8 turboprops.
