A prototype of the new Fokker 100 will be finished in two years.
The airliner will be a highly modernized version of the current Fokker 100. The news was released by Maarten van Eeghen of Next Generation Aircrafts (former Rekkof) last wednesday during the celebration of the 100 th anniversary of the first Fokker aircraft.
Rekkof took over the rights of production for Fokker Aircraft in 1996 when the Aircraft builder went bankrupt. Recently Rekkof received 20 million Euros support from the Dutch ministry of Economics for the further development of a new Airliner.
According to NGA the design of the new aircraft is completed. The new Fokker will carry 120 passengers, en will be the most fuel efficient aircraft of its sort.
