Alenia Aermacchi, a company of the Finmeccanica Aeronautics Sector led by Alenia Aeronautica, has
received the military type certificate for its new generation M-346 trainer aircraft.
This certification is a fundamental requirement for all aircraft to be operated in a military environment. The
General Directorate for Aeronautical Armaments of the Ministry of Defense issued the certificate to Alenia
Aermacchi, in Rome, on 20th June 2011.

the privileges granted to Alenia Aermacchi with the M-346 DOMA certification (Design Organization Military
Approval) issued to it in April 2009.

In order to complete the certification process the M-346 program made 180 flights over the past five
months, for a total duration of 200 hours during which over 3,300 Test points were completed.
The Italian Air Force will begin in the next few weeks the acceptance procedure for the first two series
aircraft, which it has designated T-346A.
