Giorgio Napolitano awards Alenia Aermacchi with the “Master Prize” for innovation

The President of the Italian Republic – Mr. Giorgio Napolitano – has awarded Alenia Aermacchi with the “Master Prize”, an Italian National Prize for Innovation at a special event also attended by the Minister for Public Administration and Innovation Mr. Renato Brunetta.

The “Master Prize” is a prestigious accolade awarded each year to the Companies, organisations or Individuals selected from the winners of National competitions for innovation.
The Prize has been set up by the President of the Italian Republic at the National Foundation for Technological Innovation COTEC, and is awarded during the National day for innovation, celebrated on June 14th. The National day for innovation has been set up with a Prime Minister decree dated April 7th, 2008.

Alenia Aermacchi won the “Master Prize” for 2011 “Companies for Innovation” on the basis of the score from the evaluation carried out by a Technical Committee. The competition was organized by Confindustria, in cooperation with the Associazione Premio Qualità Italia, in order to spread organization and strategic models, pivoted on growth and innovation.

The “Master Prize” award ceremony took place at Palazzo del Quirinale and the prize was awarded by the President Mr. Napolitano to Alenia Aermacchi CEO Ing. Massimo Lucchesini. The prize had the objective to «exploit and support the best innovative and creative capabilities of companies, universities, public administration offices, corporate bodies or inventors, also with the aim to promote the growth of the innovation culture in the Country».

This is an important recognition rewarding the Alenia Aermacchi tradition and capability to improve through the process of innovation, in-born in the Company DNA. The innovation ranges from the creation of a company culture having its foundation in excellence, strategies and technologies up to the improvement of the company performance using methodologies able to identify innovative tools to promote the growth and the improvement of processes (lean project).
These are the central objectives of “Companies for Innovation” and Alenia Aermacchi succeeded in “excelling” to be “innovative at 360 degrees” that deserved the award of the “Master Prize”, in the 2011 National Prize for Innovation.

The Prize was awarded to Alenia Aermacchi as: «they have faced the challenge of the international market with products, technologies and services that make use of the competencies and of the entrepreneurship of the local geographical area and of personnel able to innovate from the inside».
