This year, Bombardier Aerospace returns to the International Paris Air Show with five of its industry-leading aircraft. At this important aerospace event, Bombardier will showcase its broad spectrum of innovative products, technical expertise, and superior customer support and aircraft maintenance services. It is also an occasion to celebrate Bombardier’s 25^th year in the aerospace industry.

Featured on static display will be five airplanes from Bombardier’s portfolio of business and commercial aircraft, including the midsize Learjet 60 XR aircraft, super midsize Challenger 300 jet, ultra long-range Global 6000 jet, Q400 NextGen turboprop airliner and CRJ1000 NextGen regional jet. As well, guests can enter the next-generation world of air travel in Bombardier’s unique CSeries pavilion, where they will experience Bombardier’s CSeries aircraft in an interactive environment.

The International Paris Air Show – Paris Le Bourget runs from Monday, June 20, to Thursday, June 23, for trade visitors, and Friday, June 24, to Sunday, June 26, for public visitors. In 2011, the air show expects over 2,000 exhibitors, including the top 100 companies in the industry.

The Bombardier chalet is located at A256, and will be closed on Sunday, June 26. The static display is located at D128 and will include a state-of-the-art CSeries pavilion, featuring a new cabin mock-up. It will be closed on Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26.

Business Aircraft

Bombardier has over 580 business jets based in Europe, representing a market share of over 26 per cent. With the recent launch of its Global 7000 and Global 8000 jets and the ongoing development of the Learjet 85 aircraft and Global Vision flight deck, which was granted certification from Transport Canada on June 3, 2011, Bombardier is poised for further growth worldwide.

Bombardier’s recently published financial results for the first quarter* of fiscal year 2011 show further evidence of positive momentum, reflected by 77 net orders for business aircraft and 37 deliveries between February 1 and April 30, 2011. In addition, the May 2011 General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) shipment report showed Bombardier Aerospace as the market leader in the business aircraft market categories in which it competes, in both revenues (40 per cent) and units delivered (39 per cent), during the first three months of calendar year 2011.

Commercial Aircraft 

“As the only company that successfully competes in the regional jet, turboprop and mainline aircraft markets, Bombardier will showcase its people, its commitment to customers and its world-leading portfolio of commercial aircraft at this year’s Paris Air Show,” said Gary R. Above all, our Paris highlight will be the debut of the newest cabin mock-up of the CSeries jetliner housed in an impressive purpose-built environment.”

Over 2,800 Dash 8/Q-Series turboprops, CRJ Series regional jets and CSeries aircraft have been ordered by operators worldwide, including over 500 that are in service or on order with more than 35 European operators.

Customer Services and Support

Bombardier Customer Services raises the bar to support its growing customer base. Its far-reaching global service network consists of 63 maintenance facilities in 27 countries, and superior aircraft parts availability is sustained by ten parts depots in five continents. Bombardier has nearly 190 field service and support staff deployed internationally, more than any other Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Bombardier is also the only jet manufacturer providing training on its aircraft, offering nine facilities worldwide. This extensive support network is complemented by cost-per-flight-hour budget protection solutions, known as Smart Services. Business and commercial aircraft customers also benefit from Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) services in Belfast, Dallas and Wichita. Bombardier Customer Services holds itself accountable to higher standards to put its customers first.

Bombardier aircraft on static display:

Learjet 60 XR aircraft: The Learjet 60 XR aircraft is a proven model of performance, comfort, value and technology in the midsize jet market segment. It delivers a high cruise speed of Mach 0.81 (861 km/hr), superior climb capabilities, proven fuel efficiency and low direct operating costs per nautical mile**. The jet’s higher operating altitudes – certified to 51,000 ft (15,545 m) – translate to time savings due to better winds, less traffic and less turbulence.

Challenger 300 aircraft: This first true super midsize aircraft offers transcontinental range and superior long-range cruise speed, with eight passengers. It can fly Paris-Dubai non-stop with a full payload and its superior airfield performance allows it to operate out of 5,000-foot (1,524-m) runways with ease**. The Challenger 300 jet offers the best performance and value in its class combined with dispatch reliability consistently over 99.7 per cent – this aircraft has exceeded customer expectations since its entry-into-service in 2004.

Global 6000 aircraft: The Global 6000 business jet, formerly the Global Express XRS, features the recently certified Global Vision flight deck and the largest cabin of any purpose-built corporate aircraft – offering more cabin volume and more floor space than its closest competitor. No other business jet in the ultra long-range segment matches the high-speed range capability delivered by this aircraft. Offering the ultimate in cabin comfort, this impressive jet can link Paris-Los Angeles and Paris-Tokyo non-stop with eight passengers and three-to-four crew**.

Q400 NextGen aircraft: Optimized for short-haul operations, the “comfortably greener,” 70- to 80-seat Q400 NextGen aircraft provides an ideal balance of passenger comfort and operating economics with a reduced environmental footprint. Over 350 Q400 and Q400 NextGen aircraft are in service with more than 30 operators worldwide.

CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft: Since its entry into service in December 2010, operators are reporting the excellent passenger appeal and very high reliability of the CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft. In addition, the CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft is achieving a mission fuel consumption rate that is four per cent better than estimated, which directly results in a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to an average reduction of nearly 700 tons of greenhouse gases per aircraft, each year. The CRJ1000 NextGen regional jet is achieving the lowest cash operating cost per mile for operators in its market segment, while delivering extra range, exceptional reliability and a greener footprint. The CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft on display is operated by Brit Air for Air France.

CSeries Pavilion: Bombardier will showcase its CSeries aircraft program in a state-of-the-art pavilion located in its static display near the company’s Chalet. Housed in a custom-made, 70-foot (21-metre) geodesic dome, the pavilion will feature the CSeries aircraft’s new cabin demonstrator, technology experience and touchscreen displays, and will facilitate customer meetings and media briefings. The new livery for the CSeries aircraft, reflecting a contemporary, fresh and elegant style, will also be on display in the pavilion.
