Bombardier Aerospace today announced that it has increased the capacity of its training network with the addition of a CAE-built Level D Full-Flight Simulator (FFS) in Dallas, Texas to serve the growing number of Challenger 605 business jet operators in the United States and worldwide.
The new Challenger 605 aircraft simulator, located at Bombardier’s company-owned training facility at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas, received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transport Canada (TC) certification in late December 2010 and began customer training on January 5, 2011. Certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) was obtained in mid-January 2011. The new simulator, ordered in January 2010, will supplement existing training offered at the company’s facility in Montréal and effectively doubles the number of training opportunities for Challenger 605 business jet operators.
In the past 12 months, Bombardier has added four new simulators for its aircraft training programs. In addition to the new Challenger 605 aircraft simulator, and through its Authorized Training Provider (ATP) agreement with CAE, operators now have access to EASA-qualified FFSs for Challenger 300 aircraft at CAE’s training centre in Amsterdam and Learjet 40, Learjet 40 XR, Learjet 45 and Learjet 45 XR aircraft at CAE’s training centre in Burgess Hill, United Kindgom, as well as to a Global Express FFS at Emirates-CAE Flight Training in Dubai, qualified by the FAA, EASA and the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).Â
Bombardier will add a CAE-built Global Vision FFS at its training centre in Montréal by the second quarter of this year and will complete the relocation of its Challenger 604 aircraft FFS from its Montréal centre to CAE’s training centre in Amsterdam by the end of the first quarter of this year. All of these CAE-built Level D Full-Flight Simulators have been previously announced.
