Hatfield, Hertfordshire – LOT Polish Airlines, the Polish national carrier, has selected BAE Systems to remarket exclusively three of the airline’s fleet of five of Embraer ERJ-145 regional jets for sale. The sale is due to fleet restructuring and new aircraft arrivals. The mandate also includes the sale of a large consignment of spares which can be sold with the aircraft or separately.
All three aircraft are expected to be available from late March 2011and represent an attractive proposition both to existing operators of 50-seat regional jets and also to operators in developing markets who wish to upgrade from smaller or similar sized turboprop aircraft.
At the present time BAE Systems estimates there to be nearly 700 similar ERJ-145 aircraft in service globally with 45 operators.
These 48-seat aircraft were manufactured and entered service with LOT in 2000 and 2002 and have been used on the airline’s extensive European regional network.
Mr Hamish Davidson, Executive Vice President Business Development at BAE Systems Asset Management said today: “To win a remarketing mandate from an airline of the calibre of LOT Polish Airlines is a powerful endorsement of our strong reputation in the aircraft remarketing sector. We are recognised as a very capable organisation that covers all aircraft types and our robust remarketing processes will allow us to identify the best opportunities and choices to place these aircraft for LOT.â€
In addition to marketing the aircraft internationally, BAE Systems will also use its extensive experience and relationships in aircraft leasing and finance to help bring sale opportunities for this aircraft to a conclusion.
In addition to these ERJ-145s, BAE Systems has current mandates to remarket a further 13 aircraft on behalf of various owners worldwide.
