Safety landing Air France Boeing 777-300 at Goose Bay, Canada

Air France confirms that flight AF344 Paris-Montreal on 08/10/2010 operated by B777 landed at the Canadian military base Goose Bay at 20.10 local time. Following a sudden and unexpected system failure alarm, the pilots, in accordance with procedures, decided to land at the nearest airport to ensure the safety of passengers and the aircraft. The 461 passengers are provided accommodation at the airport’s facilities.

To enable all passengers to reach their destination, an Air France B777-300 has set out from Paris-Orly to Goose Bay, from where it will depart at approximately 18.00, Goose Bay local time, to arrive at Montreal at 19.00 local time.  

Air France apologizes for the inconvenience caused to its passengers and its customer care department will take appropriate commercial measures. The technical inquiry is in progress.
