PHENOM 100 EXECUTIVE JET EXPANDS ITS WORLWIDE ACCEPTANCE

Authorities from Canada, Egypt, and the Dominican Republic are the latest to certify the aircraftTwenty months after it went into operation, more than 150 of the Phenom 100 executive jet have already been delivered. As the number of customers expands throughout the world, the aircraft must meet the specific requirements of each country where it will be registered. The Phenom 100 is certified, today, by 18 civil aviation authorities. The most recent approvals were granted by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA), and the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil – DGAC).

The clean sheet Phenom 100 was conceived by Embraer for the entry level business jet category. The concept was introduced in 2005, and the aircraft flew for the first time on July 26, 2007. The Brazilian Civil Aviation Agency (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil – ANAC) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifications were issued in December 2008, opening the way for the first deliveries.

Since then, global acceptance of the aircraft has continued at a brisk pace, resulting in numerous additional certifications by civil aviation authorities from the countries where the Phenom 100 has customers. The jet was certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), as well as in Argentina, Australia, Isle of Man, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela, in 2009. This year, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, India, South Africa, the Philippines, and the Dominican Republic have already granted their approvals of the airplane. Other countries will soon join the current list.

The Phenom 100 can accommodate up to eight occupants and has seven different interior options designed in a partnership with BMW Group DesignworksUSA. Its range of 1,178 nautical miles (2,182 km), including NBAA IFR fuel reserves, means the aircraft is capable of flying nonstop from New York to Miami, in the U.S.; from London to Rome, in Europe; or from Brisbane to Melbourne, in Australia. It is the fastest and has the largest baggage capacity in its category. The advanced cockpit design and a private aft lavatory are some of its competitive features.
