A Kuwaiti airplane was forced to fly back to the emirate’s airport on Monday after a row between a crew member and a passenger claiming his bag contained a bomb, the state news agency KUNA said.
The passenger refused to place his hand luggage in the overhead compartment as requested by the crew member 40 minutes after take-off on the Damascus-bound flight, according to KUNA.
The pilot was forced to fly the Wataniya Airways plane back to Kuwait City, where Interior Ministry officials carried out a search but found no explosive materials, KUNA reported.
The passenger was taken in for questioning and the plane took off again for the Syrian capital.
