Hatfield, United kingdom – BAE Systems has won an exclusive mandate from UK carrier Titan Airways to remarket one of the airline’s three freighter variants of the BAe 146.
Due to the need for larger capacity aircraft, Titan Airways wishes to sell one of the three aircraft and under the terms of the mandate the Asset Management business of BAE Systems will market all three aircraft simultaneously.
All aircraft are offered with early delivery and consist of BAe 146QT (Quiet Trader) bearing manufacturer’s serial number E2114 (1988 build), and two BAe 146QC (Quick Change) aircraft with msns E2119 and E2148, both built in 1989.
“Steve Doughty, Senior Vice President of BAE Systems’ Asset Management business said today: “Despite the global downturn in the airfreight industry, we are seeing niche opportunities to place regional freighters in parts of the world where communities and industries such as mining and oil exploration have to rely on air freight for the transport of essential goods and services. We recently had success in arranging the sale of another BAe 146QT to an Indonesian customer on behalf of a Swedish customer, and we are confident that we shall similarly find a suitable buyer for one of these Titan aircraft.”
2009 has seen Titan Airways celebrate 21 years of operation. This milestone anniversary has seen the company grow from a small air taxi operator to one of the most prominent and leading charter airlines in Europe, in the process becoming the most successful operator of the BAe146QC.
Through its Asset Management business, BAE Systems provides aircraft remarketing, lease management and technical services to the owners and operators of commercial aircraft from regional equipment through to wide-bodies.
Over the last 16 years its track record includes the completion of over 1600 lease contracts, the sale of some 400 commercial airliners and the remarketing and management of a wide range of aircraft including Boeing and Airbus types. It is currently offering Airbus A318, A321,MD83, Avro RJ, BAe 146, ATP and Jetstream aircraft available for sale or lease on behalf of a number of clients.”
