– Bombardier’s optimized commercial aircraft provide travel solutions for Russia and the CIS’ growing demand

TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – Aug. 18, 2009) – Bombardier Commercial Aircraft will showcase its commitment to the growing market for regional and single-aisle mainline aircraft in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) at the biennial Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS 2009) in Moscow from August 18-24, 2009.

Bombardier’s exhibit will be located in the Ontario Pavilion at the show and the company’s participation will be led by its business development and sales team for Russia and the CIS including Vice President, Rod Sheridan and Senior Director, Mark S. Gilbert.

At MAKS, which drew 500,000 visitors and more than 780 exhibitors in 2007, Bombardier will highlight the operating and maintenance economics, performance and passenger comfort of its 70-seat CRJ700 NextGen, 88-seat CRJ900 NextGen and 100-seat CRJ1000 NextGen regional jets and 68- to 80-seat Q400 NextGen high-speed turboprop, along with its 110- to 130-seat CSeries single-aisle mainline aircraft which is scheduled to enter service in 2013.

Just in time for MAKS, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft has also launched a new website (www.commercial-usedaircraft-bombardier.com) dedicated to providing data and availability on a global fleet of previously owned CRJ and Q-Series aircraft. The CRJ200 aircraft in particular is seen as an ideal aircraft for the Russian and CIS marketplace. CRJ operator AirVolga will display one of its recently acquired, 50-passenger CRJ200 regional jets. AirVolga has also announced its intention to acquire additional CRJ200 aircraft.

Previously owned CRJ100/200/440 aircraft continue to enjoy secondary market opportunities as economical commercial airliners, efficient and spacious corporate converted aircraft, and as innovative package freighters. Bombardier Commercial Aircraft’s Asset Management Group is dedicated to the management and remarketing of Bombardier’s previously owned commercial aircraft portfolio.

In 2003 Bombardier’s Dash 8 aircraft became the first Western-built regional aircraft to obtain Russian certification and registration. Today, 22 CRJ regional jets and 5 Dash 8/Q-Series turboprops are in service with operators in Russia and the CIS.

Bombardier has delivered more than 2,400 CRJ Series and Dash 8/Q-Series aircraft to customers worldwide.
