Malaysia Restarts MH370 Search with Ocean Infinity Under New 55-Day Plan

Aviation News – Malaysia has resumed the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 in the southern Indian Ocean, reviving efforts to locate the missing Boeing 777 more than a decade after its disappearance. The renewed operation matters as it applies updated analysis and technology to one of aviation’s greatest unsolved mysteries.

The search follows plans announced earlier this month and begins under a previously defined 55-day framework agreed with Malaysia’s transport ministry. It is being conducted by UK- and US-based marine robotics firm Ocean Infinity under a no-find, no-fee agreement, resuming work after an earlier mission ended in April due to adverse weather conditions.

This latest phase targets around 5,800 square miles of ocean identified as having a higher probability of containing the wreckage. Authorities say the focus area is based on refined satellite and drift modelling, combined with analysis of confirmed MH370 debris recovered along African coastlines and Indian Ocean islands, representing a methodological bolt to earlier search efforts.
