Aviation News – Rise Air has taken delivery of its first ATR 72-600 aircraft, becoming the Canadian launch customer for the latest generation of the ATR -600 series. The delivery strengthens the airline’s ability to provide reliable, year-round air services to remote communities across Saskatchewan.

The Indigenous-owned carrier received the aircraft as part of a three-aircraft agreement signed in November 2024. Two additional brand-new ATR 72-600 aircraft are scheduled to join the fleet under lease in 2026, supporting Rise Air’s long-term fleet renewal strategy and operational growth.

The ATR 72-600 is designed for regional operations, offering improved fuel efficiency, modern avionics, and enhanced passenger comfort. Its performance on short and remote runways makes it well suited for northern and rural routes, delivering a practical operational bolt to Rise Air’s connectivity mission while reducing environmental impact.
