As the aircraft of Flight EU6674 with a painting of “Chinese Dream” of Chengdu Airlines took off from Shangrao Sanqingshan Airport, and landed at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, ARJ21 aircraft ushered in the millionth passenger on July 20th, 2020.
Since the inaugural flight of ARJ21 aircraft on June 28th, 2016, Chengdu Airlines has accumulatively operated 21 ARJ21 aircraft in 46 domestic and international routes among 43 cities, and successively established six demonstration operation bases in the cities such as Chengdu, Quanzhou and Yinchuan, which gives full play to the advantage of China-made regional jet and promotes the development of local aviation economy. Now, Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Genghis Khan Airlines and Jiangxi Air have also joined the ranks of ARJ21 aircraft operators. These airlines have received a total of 33 ARJ21 aircraft, opened routes covering the regions such as North China, Northeast China, South China and Southwest China, operated in 56 cities, and built air passages connecting domestic second- and third-tier attractive cities, which marks the initial formation of large-scale operation of ARJ21 aircraft, and provides more convenience for passengers.
As a pioneer and forerunner of ARJ21 aircraft operation, Chengdu Airlines has done its best in ARJ21 aircraft operation over the years; set up and perfected ARJ21 aircraft operation management system, maintenance support system and training system; gradually built a route network structure that perforates through the north and the south, connects the east and the west, combines trunk and regional lines, and covers most regions in China; opened the international round-trip route between Harbin and Vladivostok, and the general plateau round-trip routes such as the round-trip route between Chengdu and Lanzhou; fostered 496 special personnel such as pilots for this aircraft; set up a good brand image of China-made commercial aircraft; and made positive contributions to the development of regional air transport in China. In order to speed up the pace of ARJ21 aircraft going abroad, Chengdu Airlines has established operation bases in Harbin and Weihai, and planned to established an operation base in Pan-Beibu Gulf Region, so as to radiate the Russian Far East, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and part of South Asia with the three bases as supporting points, and build a hub of international short- and medium-range routes for ARJ21 aircraft.
Chengdu Airlines has operated ARJ21 aircraft for more than four years, and will cooperate with more and more peers to create benefits and set up a brand by flying the aircraft, so as to take the road of exploring the operation of ARJ21 aircraft better and farther.
