Aircraft Provides Customers With Class-Leading Combination Of Range, Fuel Efficiency And Field Performance

SAVANNAH, Georgia, August 24, 2017 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced that its worldwide fleet of G280 aircraft recently eclipsed 100,000 flight hours, a milestone achieved less than five years after the first model entered service.

“The G280 continues to reinforce its status as the premier super mid-size aircraft in business aviation,” said Dan Nale, senior vice president, Programs, Engineering and Test, Gulfstream. “It has a class-leading combination of range, fuel efficiency and field performance and the technology typically found on a larger business jet.

“The G280 also offers customers the ability to fly in and out of challenging airports such as London City, Lugano and Samedan/St. Moritz in Europe. This aircraft continues to grow in popularity, and our customers will continue to benefit from its performance and features for years to come.”

Since entering service in November 2012, the G280 has been able to continuously improve its dispatch reliability to a market segment-leading level. Through July 2017, the fleet of more than 115 aircraft has achieved a dispatch reliability rate of 99.90 percent.

With a range of 3,600 nautical miles/6,667 kilometers at Mach 0.80, the G280 can fly eight hours nonstop, connecting New York with Paris, Chicago with London, or London with Dubai. Its list of city-pair speed records includes a 7-hour, 40-minute flight from Paris to New York.

Two powerful Honeywell HTF7250G engines propel the G280 to an initial cruise altitude of 43,000 feet/13,106 meters in approximately 20 minutes and feature reduced emissions, longer maintenance intervals and decreased noise levels.
