GULFSTREAM G550 and G650ER CLAIMS SPEED RECORD

SAVANNAH, Georgia, November 16, 2015 – The Gulfstream G550 arrived for this year’s National Business Aviation Association Convention & Exhibition after setting a new speed record between Macau and Las Vegas.

The G550 departed Macau International Airport for McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas on Nov. 14, 2015. The 6,586 nautical-mile/12,197-kilometer trip was covered in 12 hours and 8 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.80.

The Gulfstream G650ER, the company’s flagship, recently added another city-pair record to its list, this time linking Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to New York City.

The G650ER departed Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai on November 13 and flew 6,159 nautical miles/11,407 kilometers to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. The flight took 13 hours and 10 minutes at an average cruise speed in excess of Mach 0.87.

Pending approval by the U.S. National Aeronautic Association, the city-pair record will be sent to the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale in Switzerland for recognition as a world record.
