AW609 Test Pilots Receive Iven Kincheloe Award

The tilt-rotor prototype AW609 – a hybrid between an airplane and helicopter and capable of taking off vertically – was on a test flight in Northern Italy this morning (October 30), crashing between Santhia and Tronzano.

Italian air-accident investigation agency ANSV said the aircraft involved is the second flight-test prototype, N609AG built in 2003.
