Dassault Aviation and the “Patrouille de France”: a common passion

There is more than just a rational partnership between user and manufacturer as far as Dassault Aviation and the Patrouille de France (French Acrobatic Patrol) are concerned.

Aviation is a community of men and women brought together by passion. For engineers, pilots, technicians and mechanics, technology cannot be separated from the dream; the search for maximum efficiency does not preclude a love for shapes; sound and fury bring about elegance and grace; rigor and attention to detail coexist with vast open spaces; safety requirements combine with the temptation to constantly go beyond what has been done before.

This passion is contagious. For 60 years, the Patrouille de France has been the French ambassador for aviation. In large part the PAF owes its international notoriety to the tri-color trails of smoke that mark the skies over the most prestigious meetings, trade shows, parades and commemorations worldwide.

Come out and attend the 60th anniversary of the Patrouille de France and the 701 Air Base event which will take place in Salon-de-Provence on May 25 and 26, 2013.

Meanwhile, Eric Magnan and François Olivier Robin did a 52-minute film about the history, the life of the team, pilot training, the thrills and wonders of one of the most spectacular and respected elite squadron in the world.
