RAF Typhoon Display Pilot is good to go

Flight Lieutenant Jamie Norris RAF Typhoon display pilot 2013

Flight Lieutenant Jamie Norris has received his Public Display Authorisation (PDA) for the 2013 Royal Air Force Typhoon Display

The PDA is the formal sign-off, completed by the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) No 1 Group, Air-Vice Marshal Stuart Atha. In order to achieve PDA the pilot has to satisfy the AOC that he can deliver a flying display that is primarily safe, and which also demonstrates the world-class capability of the aircraft.

Flt Lt Norris said, “I’m delighted to have successfully completed the training work-up period. This aircraft is a delight to fly, the performance is blistering and the handling superb, I’m proud to be the pilot entrusted with demonstrating this incredible aircraft to the public; I’m really looking forward to getting on the road and doing just that!”

AVM Atha said, “Flt Lt Jamie Norris and all the men and women at RAF Coningsby are to be congratulated for all their hard work that culminated in Jamie receiving his Public Display Authorisation. The Typhoon display is an excellent showcase for the professionalism of our people and the world-class performance of Typhoon.”
