Georgia to Test First Domestically Designed UAV

TBILISI, April 9 Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said on Monday he will attend Tuesday’s test of Georgia’s first unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

“Tomorrow I will test our first drone, which has been designed to the highest technological specifications,” Saakashvili said. “More Georgian technology will follow.”

According to Valery Yakhnovets, the defense minister of the former Georgian republic of South Ossetia, Georgia currently uses Israeli-made Hermes 450S, Skylark I and Skylark II UAVs.
