Fokker Services becomes exclusive reseller of Acro seats for Fokker and Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft

Fokker Services is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Acro to become the exclusive reseller of the lightweight Acro seats for the Fokker 50, -70 and -100 and Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft.

The lightweight Acro seats have been co-developed by Fokker Services and Acro, where Acro was responsible for the seat design and Fokker Services was responsible for certification on Fokker and Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft. Acro built the seats conform the specifications given by Fokker Services. From today, Acro seats for Fokker and Dash 8 aircraft are exclusively sold at and distributed by Fokker Services.

In 2011 the Acro seat concept was a runner up for a Crystal Cabin Award in the category of best Industrial Design/Interior Concept. The reasons for this nomination were the benefits that come with this new seat concept. First of all, the seats offer a significant weight reduction, adding up to 10 kg per passenger place. Not only is the weight reduced, its innovative monospar modular construction, incorporating the unique “Manufactured Legroom” concept, gives 2 inches more legroom than any other seat. Due to a robust, modular, easy-clean structure, regular maintenance operations are no longer required. The seats have a lead time of only 12 weeks.

Chris Brady, Managing Director at Acro, about the agreement: “With more than 10,000 seats flying worldwide, our seat is proven to provide additional comfort and reduce ownership costs. Fokker’s partnership with Acro is a perfect match for two established and growing high-quality aerospace businesses.”

“We are delighted to sign this contract with Acro”, says Tom Milder Director Modifications Fokker Services. “We can now offer aircraft seats that save weight, have low maintenance costs, increase legroom and have a short lead time. This concept exactly meets the demand of our customers and we receive very positive feedback from regional airlines and leasing companies”.
