EMBRAER LINEAGE RECEIVES HOT-AND-HIGH ALTITUDE CERTIFICATION

São José dos Campos, Brazil, March 22, 2012 – The Embraer Lineage 1000 has added hot-and-high altitude to its impressive list of operational capabilities, having been certified for such missions in both Brazil and the US.
“Designed to operate into weight-restricted airports like Teterboro, NJ and such challenging airports as London City and Aspen, the ultra-large Lineage 1000 now has another significant achievement in its portfolio,” said Ernest Edwards, President, Embraer Executive Jets. “The Lineage 1000 is now capable of operating at airports above 13,000 feet such as La Paz, Bolivia, one of the highest airports in the world at 13,357 feet. This is an important milestone since we have made an already operationally flexible aircraft even more flexible.”
The High-Altitude Takeoff and Landing Operation (HALTO) tests were completed in February when it achieved twin certifications from Brazil’s ANAC and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The new “hot-and-high” capability will be offered as an option and will be initially available for Brazilian and US operators.
The ultra-large Lineage 1000 is Embraer’s largest executive jet and can carry 19 passengers in five cabin zones, with three to four crew. Its range of 4,500 nautical miles (8,334 km) with four passengers, or 4,400 nautical miles (8,149 km) with eight passengers, both with NBAA IFR fuel reserves, means that the jet is able to fly nonstop in either direction from Mumbai to London; London to Dubai; Dubai to Johannesburg (South Africa); or from Singapore to Sydney (Australia).
The interior design provides comfort and refinement and was designed in conjunction with internationally recognized Priestmangoode. The cabin uses the category’s most sophisticated materials. A wide variety of configurations meets all passenger requirements with enough space to work, rest and hold meetings. Optional items include a comfort enhancing queen-sized bedroom with walk-in shower; productivity improving Wi-Fi, high-speed data; as well as galley ammenities such as a Nespresso machine, wine cooler and refrigerator.
An ample aft baggage compartment, pressurized and conveniently accessible during flight, has a total capacity of 323 cubic feet (9,140 liters) and is the largest among all business jets. Honeywell’s Primus Epic® integrated avionics system has five Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) multi-functional control screens, Cursor Control Device (CCD), autothrottle, weather radar with turbulence detection and other state-of-the-art technologies for decreased pilot workload and aircraft efficiency. The Lineage 1000 is equipped with the latest electronic fly-by-wire flight control system to improve performance, handling and safety.
The Company offers flight operations as well as technical and maintenance support including routine inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and some special service programs, such as the Embraer Executive Care (EEC) customized for the operating profile of the aircraft. This services portfolio, supported by a 24/7 Contact Center product support specialists, will provide a significant reduction in aircraft downtime and maximize the benefits of Customer operations.
