Chinees Air Force “August 1” Aerobatic Team launches domestic air show tour

In celebration of the upcoming 62nd anniversary of the founding of the Air Force of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the “August 1” Aerobatic Team officially has kicked off its domestic air show tour. A person in charge from the Air Force Headquarters said on October 17 that the aerobatic team would choose proper days in late October to conduct flight performances respectively in Tangshan of Hebei Province and Weifang of Shandong Province.

Since its establishment in 1962, the “August 1” Aerobatic Team has conducted 390-odd guest-welcoming air shows for 633 delegations from 146 countries and regions, and successfully completed a number of air shows for the National Day military parades in Beijing, the Zhuhai International Air Shows and other major events. It is praised as China’s “air guard of honor”.

Currently, J-10 fighters of the team are able to conduct the performances of one-plane and two-plane stunts, and the four-plane, five-plane and six-plane formation stunts. The shows to be conducted in Tangshan and Weifang will stage 18 fantastic stunts.

It is learned that during the “August 1” Aerobatic Team’s show tour in Tangshan and Weifang, the Air Force Parachute Jumping Team will also come and present seven parachute jumping items including “pioneering”, “rainbow in the air” and “flying golden dragon” on the sites.
