ANI Group Holdings Ltd. Signs MOU with Mitsubishi Aircraft for Purchase of 5 Mitsubishi Regional Jet Aircraft

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hong Kong-based aircraft lease and maintenance company, ANI Group Holdings Ltd. for an order for 5 next-generation Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) aircraft (5 firm). MRJ’s top-class operational economy and outstanding cabin comfort were highly acclaimed by ANI Group Holdings Ltd.

ANI Group Holdings Ltd. currently services five Indonesian airlines.

This new order is an important first step towards cultivating the fast-growing Asian market for Mitsubishi Aircraft outside of Japan.

One of the management at ANI Group Holdings Ltd., commented as following;
“We are very proud to be the first client for MRJ in Asia outside of Japan. Indonesia is a rapidly developing market. Since this country is formed by more than 17,000 islands, has a population of more than 240 million people, and has a rapidly growing economy, airplane travel from city to city will undoubtedly increase as time goes on. Regional jets will therefore be essential for Indonesia. The MRJ, with its outstanding operational economy and cabin comforts, will surely be the regional jet contributing to our competitiveness. Also we are expecting that MRJ would form a family of competitive aircraft and we are considering an additional order of 20 when MRJ family is expanded to cover 100 seat class.  We are looking forward to receiving the MRJ and beginning operation in Indonesia.”

Mitsubishi Aircraft President Hideo Egawa said, “We have been strengthening our sales activities in the fast-growing Asian market. We are very excited to have ANI Group Holdings Ltd. as our customer. We hope our next-generation MRJ regional jet will contribute to the business at ANI Group Holdings Ltd. This new order has encouraged us to boost our sales activities not only in Asia but in other world markets as well.”

MRJ has received 125 aircraft orders so far including 25 (15 firm, 10 option) from All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. and 100 (50 firm, 50 option) from Trans States Holdings. This MOU brings the current number of orders for the MRJ to 130 aircraft (70 firm, 60 options).
