Dutch aerospace firm Fokker signs Chinese deal with Comac

Fokker Technologies, the Dutch aerospace company, is planning to work closely together with the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac). Fokker CEO Sjoerd Vollebregt is signing a contract with Comac on Thursday in Shanghai.

The agreement is on “potential co-operation between Fokker Technologies and Comac”, according to a spokesperson for the Dutch firm. However, no details were given about how much the deal might be worth.

The signing of the agreement comes during the visit to China by a Dutch trade delegation. It is being led by Economic Affairs Minister Maxime Verhagen.

Fokker will be closely cooperating with Comac to develop the new C919 airliner. The C919 is to be a future compeditor for the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 models.
