Stork SP Aerospace renamed Fokker Landing Gear from 1 March

Helmond, 23 March 2010 – As a result of the earlier decision under which all the Aerospace companies in the Stork group will carry the Fokker name, Stork SP Aerospace has been renamed Fokker Landing Gear with effect from 1 March. The decision was taken because the Fokker name is regarded in the international aerospace market as an extremely strong brand, and one that is inseparably linked around the world with aviation, aircraft building, constant innovation and entrepreneurship. Transparent and uniform naming is expected to make a positive contribution to the positioning of the Fokker brand and the Fokker companies, among them Fokker Landing Gear. The Fokker companies are part of and owned by Stork B.V.

Fokker Landing Gear is an innovative company in the design, development and production of landing gear for aircraft and helicopters. The landing gear of the NH90 helicopter and the arresting gear of the JSF are just two examples of the contribution that Fokker Landing Gear is making to new programs. The company’s facility in Helmond also produces the landing gear for the F16, the Dash-8 Q400 and the Apache Helicopter. The latest development is the use of advanced composite materials in structural components of landing gear. This application is being industrialized in an exclusive strategic partnership with Goodrich Landing Gear, the world’s largest manufacturer of landing gear. Fokker Landing Gear has a workforce of around 200 at its site in Helmond.

Fokker Landing Gear, Fokker Aerostructures, Fokker Elmo, Fokker Aircraft Services and Fokker Services together form the Fokker Aerospace group, which with 3700 employees holds a prominent position in the aviation industry as a leading player in the market for Electrical Systems, Aerostructures, Landing Gear, Aircraft Maintenance and Technical & Supply Chain Management Services. With a balanced portfolio of programs and innovative technologies, the companies in the group serve virtually all the major aircraft manufacturers as well as many operators of Fokker, Dash 8, Boeing 737 and A320 aircraft types.
